Colombia seriously considers joining China’s Belt & Road Initiative, says Colombian Ambassador to China, Luis Diego Monsalve


China and Colombia are looking for ways to strengthen their bilateral trade relationship.

A year ago, President Iván Duque traveled to China intending to expand Colombia’s trade relations as China is Colombia’s second most important trading partner, after the United States.

China’s growing foreign influence is, of course, propelled by the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Through this initiative, the country invests in multimillion-dollar projects in infrastructure, energy, mining, and agriculture.
